The field of and research related to psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP) is rapidly growing, revealing the potential for healing and treatment of mental health afflictions. Skills cultivated in the practice of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) may serve to enhance the safety of PAP and therefore optimize the potential of these treatments for participants, while supporting clinicians as they navigate this nascent field.

This 3-hour workshop will provide participants with a basic understanding of the synergy between self-compassion and PAP. Attendees will learn how to cultivate self-compassion to enhance the benefits of PAP as well as to reduce the potential for harm.

Objectives for MSC for PAP

In this workshop, participants will learn:

  • Current research on the potential of psychedelic assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of mental health disorders
  • The potential benefits of MSC as a harm reduction tool for psychedelic-assisted therapy
  • Practical applications of Mindful Self-Compassion in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy

Who Should Attend

This workshop is open to individuals interested in developing harm-reduction skills to offer and participate in psychedelic therapy and/or other non-ordinary practices.
